Vivo Tutorial for Firmware Installation

Warm Tips:

Due to limitations in Android 8 and higher versions, phones with Android 8 or later cannot be downgraded to a lower version (you can check your phone’s current version in Settings > System update).

Your data on the phone won’t be erased. However, it is recommended to back up important data such as contacts and messages before proceeding. Additionally, ensure your battery is sufficiently charged (over 30%).

Steps for Firmware Installation

Download the corresponding firmware for your phone.

Move the file to the root directory of your phone storage or SD card without decompressing it.Note: The root directory is the main directory you see when you open your phone’s file explorer. In other words, do not place the file inside a folder. Files in the “Phone storage” section of the File Manager are located in the root directory.

Install the firmware:

If you can access your phone:

Open File Manager, click on the firmware file to begin the installation.

If you cannot access your phone:

For full-view display phones: Press and hold the Power button and Volume Up button simultaneously until the vivo logo appears. This will enter Fastboot Mode. Use the Volume Down button to select Recovery Mode, and press the Power button to enter. Then choose Install update > Phone Storage or SD card, select the firmware, and touch Next to install it.

For phones with a 16:9 display screen: Press and hold the Power button and Volume Up button simultaneously until the vivo logo appears, entering Recovery Mode. Select Install update > Phone Storage or SD card, choose the firmware file, and touch Next to install it. (For Funtouch OS 2.0 and lower versions, select “apply update from internal sdcard (Phone storage)” or “apply update from external sdcard (SD card)”, then select the firmware to install).
